I. Introduction and Thesis: J.D. Salinger, the famous author who wrote The Catcher in the Rye, created this story which seems to be a mere reflection of his own life. J.D Salinger conveys himself in thoughts and actions through the main character of his book, Holden Caufield. Throughout the entire book Holden demonstrates the actions and expresses the emotions that J.D Salinger had gone through in his own life. Take a closer look, these two people, Holden and Salinger; seem to be the same person. In the novel The Catcher in the Rye, Holden Caufield is a strong resemblance of J.D Salinger because they both grew up in well off families but did not get along with their parents, they were considered loners because they distanced themselves from other people, and they were both very rebellious teenagers.
